This elegant wingback armchair (known as "ušák") is a prime example of Czechoslovak design from the 1940s. Its form sits at the crossroads of two major eras—carrying the echoes of noble Art Deco while foreshadowing the emerging organic Mid-Century style. The characteristic high backrest with side headrests provides maximum comfort and a sense of privacy.

The chair is built on a stable construction of solid beech wood. As part of a professional restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived, restoring the natural luster and emphasizing the delicate grain of the beech. The piece holds exceptional value due to its original traditional upholstery, which remains in very well-preserved condition, not sagging, and providing excellent support. The armchair is fully functional, and thanks to its sturdiness and timeless look, it is ready to serve as a centerpiece in both modern and classic interiors.
