This armchair is an absolute icon of interwar functionalism and the Bauhaus style from the 1930s. The timeless design was originally conceived by the famous architect and designer Willem Hendrik Gispen. In Czechoslovakia, it was produced by the renowned company Mücke-Melder as catalogue type Fn 24, under license from Thonet, where the design was originally designated as type S 411. Due to its immense popularity and exceptional comfort, very similar variants were also manufactured by other prominent domestic brands; Gottwald produced it as type Ek 34 until 1940, and Slezák offered it as type K 29.

The structural foundation of the chair is a bent tubular chrome-plated steel cantilever frame, which offers a pleasant springing effect for maximum seating comfort. During the comprehensive restoration, the chrome was professionally cleaned and polished to a mirror finish. A standout craftsmanship detail features on the armrests made of solid beech wood, which have been finished in a black piano lacquer and polished to a luxurious, high-gloss luster. This deep, mirror-like surface harmonizes beautifully with the cool metal and the texture of the fabric.

The chair has been newly and professionally upholstered from the ground up. A premium upholstery fabric with an elegant geometric pattern in black and white tones was selected, perfectly aligning with the clean aesthetics of functionalism. This meticulously restored piece represents a high-quality collector's investment that will stand out as a magnificent centerpiece in modern residences, industrial lofts, or classic studies.
